Agartala Records 21% Positivity Rate, COVID-19 Alert

The Tripura government has found a 21% coronavirus positivity rate in state capital Agartala. The state government has suspended the neighborhood classes where 1.25 lakh students attend the class at different places of Tripura.

Till now, 7,232 people are recovered from the Corona Virus in the state. There are  4,075 active cases and 98 death so far. Tripura has logged over 10,000 cases so far. 

Tripura's Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, who also holds the Health Department, said that the coronavirus crisis in the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) areas is extremely with a positivity rate of 21%. Around 5 lakh people who are the resident of these areas.

"From the 49 wards in the AMC, 753 coronavirus positive cases have been found in nine wards. To avoid the gatherings in the government offices, 50% of employees of Group 'C' and "D" employees would be allowed to attend the office each day" Mr. Deb said in a locally televised speech.

The COVID-19 positivity rate was 92% in ward 4 of the AMC, followed by 52% in ward 6, 94% in ward 12, 99% in ward 20, 93% in ward 26, 32% in ward 32, 100% in ward 40 and 69% in ward 46.
